- 1 kilo tender shawarma beef, cut into long thin strips
- 1 cup yogurt
- 3 tablespoons tahini
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of thyme/oregano
- 1 tablespoon shawarma spice
- 4 cardamom pods
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Garlic sauce accompanying the shawarma:
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 cups yogurt
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Vegetable salad accompanying the shawarma:
- 1 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- A sprinkle of sumac, a pinch of salt, a drizzle of pomegranate molasses
