Kofta with tahini — an easy, quick recipe

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Half a kilo of kofta or kebab mince with parsley (ready from the butcher)
  • Oil
  • Onion
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup tahini
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Salt to taste

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Form the kofta into balls and fry them in a little oil.
  2. In the same oil, fry the onion, finely chopped or in wedges, until they soften.
  3. Place the onions and kofta balls in a baking dish or Pyrex.
  4. Mix the yogurt, tahini, water, lemon juice and salt, then pour the mixture over the kofta.
  5. Put the dish in the oven so the sauce sets.
  6. Serve the kofta with tahini with plain rice or eat with bread; you can garnish with fried nuts.
