  • 1 kilo tender shawarma beef, cut into long thin strips
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of thyme/oregano
  • 1 tablespoon shawarma spice
  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Garlic sauce accompanying the shawarma:
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Vegetable salad accompanying the shawarma:
  • 1 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • A sprinkle of sumac, a pinch of salt, a drizzle of pomegranate molasses

Method

  2. Mix the meat with all the other ingredients, and place the mixture in the fridge for about 6 hours...

  3. If you want to make beef shawarma quickly, leave it in the marinade for at least 2 hours

  4. Before frying the shawarma, drain well\nFry it well until cooked, or bake in the oven
