How to Make Laban Emmo with Chicken and Cauliflower

A delicious, hearty Palestinian recipe for laban emmo made with chicken, cauliflower, and jameed laban...

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 kilo chicken
  • 1 kilo cauliflower or white cauliflower
  • 2 dry onions
  • seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon chicken spice
  • ready jameed laban, chilled
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • salt to taste

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Wash the chicken well and rub it with salt, vinegar, and lemon juice, then leave it aside in a colander.
  2. Wash the cauliflower as well and fry it in oil until it is browned and cooked through, then remove it from the oil and set it aside.
  3. Fry the onions in a little oil and add the bay leaves, cinnamon, and chicken seasoning. When the onions soften, add the chicken and let it cook well. When the chicken browns, add water and boil it until it is fully cooked...
  4. Prepare the pieces of jameed laban by soaking them in hot water for about 20 minutes. When it becomes soft, blend it in an electric blender with hot water and 1 cup yogurt... Add the jameed laban mixture over the chicken and let the ingredients boil well.
    Timers: 20 min
  5. When the chicken and laban mixture comes to a boil, add the cauliflower and fried garlic, let the mixture boil again for a few minutes, then turn off the heat.
  6. Serve laban emmo with jameed laban and cauliflower alongside cooked rice
