Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 package puff pastry dough
  • 1 kg spinach
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onion (scallion)
  • a pinch of hot chili powder
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon nigella seeds (black seed)
  • 1 small cup olive oil

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Wash the spinach well, chop it, drain and squeeze it. Mix all the ingredients together well to obtain the filling.
  2. Shape the puff pastry as desired. To make a roll shape, spread the filling along the length of the dough and roll it until it resembles a rope.
  3. Cut it into small fingers. You can also cut the dough first, then fill and roll each piece into fingers.
  4. Place the spinach rolls on a baking tray.
  5. Bake in an oven at 180°C until the puff pastry rises and browns.
  6. Serve the spinach rolls hot or cold, according to preference.
