Recipe story

Beehive bread with feta and olives, made at home in an easy, tried-and-tested way! A very delicious recipe, especially for all pastry lovers. Depending on the filling, beehive bread can be served for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even as a light snack.

Ingredients

  • Ten-minute dough:
  • 2 tablespoons instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 2 cups warm water
  • Honeycomb filling:
  • Feta cheese
  • Olives
  • Parsley
  • Then add 3 cups of flour, the powdered milk, and the oil, knead the dough well and set it aside until use or you can use it immediately
  • Prepare the filling: mix the feta cheese with chopped parsley and pitted, chopped olives
  • Roll out the dough and cut it into medium-sized circles. Try to make the dough thin, not thick, so the honeycomb balls don't become just dough after baking
  • Take each circle, put a little filling in it, close it into a small ball and arrange the balls next to each other in an oven tray
  • Sprinkle the honeycomb tray with sesame and nigella seeds as desired
  • Brush the tops of the balls with a little milk and place the tray in a hot oven for about 15 minutes

Method

  1. First, prepare the dough. Place the yeast and sugar in a deep bowl, then add the lukewarm water.
  2. Wait a few minutes until the yeast activates, then add 2 cups of flour and a pinch of salt. Mix the ingredients and set aside for 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  3. After that, add the remaining 3 cups of flour, the milk powder, and the oil, and knead the dough well. Set aside until needed, or use it immediately.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing the feta cheese with the chopped parsley and the pitted, chopped olives.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut it into medium-sized circles. Try to keep the dough thin, not thick, so the beehive balls do not turn into plain dough after baking.
  6. Take each circle, place a little filling in the center, seal it into a small ball, and arrange the balls side by side in an oven-safe tray.
  7. Sprinkle the beehive tray with sesame seeds and nigella seeds, if desired.
  8. Brush the tops of the balls with a little milk and place the tray in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes.
    Timers: 15 min
