  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • For the filling:
  • 600 g ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baharat (seven-spice blend)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet spice

Method

  1. Boil the potatoes until fully cooked.. mash them well and add butter, milk, and salt, continuing to mash until smooth in texture...
  2. Fry the minced meat in butter until half-cooked. Add the chopped onion and continue frying.. then add the spices and salt
  3. Place a second layer of mashed potatoes over the meat filling, and sprinkle crushed cake crumbs over the potato layer..
  4. Finally, place small pieces of butter over the crushed cake crumbs so the crumbs brown in the oven during baking..
  5. Put the dish in the oven and leave it for about 40 minutes at 200°C..
  6. Serve the soufflé alongside a green salad..
