Italian Focaccia Bread

Ingredients

- 4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup olive oil
- cherry tomatoes
- pitted black or green olives
- roasted sweet red pepper
- fresh or dried thyme
- rosemary (rosemary)
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the yeast with the sugar in lukewarm water and let the yeast activate.
- Add the flour, water and half a cup of the olive oil over the activated yeast.
- Knead until you have a cohesive, non-sticky dough.
- Divide the dough into two portions and let it rest for 40 minutes.Timers: 40 min
- After resting, brush a baking tray with a little olive oil, then spread the dough in a circular shape about 1 cm thick on the tray.
- Brush the top of the dough with olive oil, then distribute the cherry tomatoes, olives, thyme and sliced roasted pepper over the surface. Press them lightly so they stick to the dough as it bakes.
- Let the focaccia rest again for about 30 minutes before baking.Timers: 30 min
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 0C for about 10 to 12 minutes, until done.Timers: 12 min
- Serve the Italian focaccia bread with assorted cheeses.
