Ingredients

  • 1 kg boneless fish fillets
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of ground ginger
  • A pinch of garlic powder
  • A pinch of ground cumin
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup crushed cake crumbs (breadcrumbs)
  • Salt
  • A pinch of dried coriander
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • This easy, distinctive recipe for crispy fried fish fillets comes from a friend of the Sho Tabkhin Today website:
  • Mona Qassem

Method

  1. Whisk the eggs with the various spices listed in the ingredients. Add the flour and whisk the eggs and flour together.
  2. Place the washed and dried fish fillets in a bowl and pour over the egg and flour mixture for half an hour. After that time, lift the fish from the egg-and-flour mixture and place the pieces one by one on a plate containing the crushed cake crumbs, also called breadcrumbs.
  3. Fry the fish fillet pieces in plenty of hot oil.
  4. Serve the crispy fish fillets with a mayonnaise sauce made from pickled cucumber (or gherkin), mayonnaise, and a tablespoon of white vinegar... Blend these ingredients together until you obtain a creamy mixture.
