Chicken Stroganoff... a rich and practical recipe
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken fillet
- 1 large carton cooking cream
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken seasoning
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 1 can mushrooms
- Butter
- Grated mozzarella
- Grated cheddar
- Dried oregano or thyme
Method
- Chop the onion and sauté it in butter in a pot.
- Add the crushed garlic on top and stir.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and stir.
- Then add the chicken cut into cubes or strips.
- Sprinkle the listed spices and stir until cooked through.
- Add the cream carton and bring it to a boil.
- Sprinkle the cheese, salt, and oregano and stir. When the cheese melts and the cream thickens slightly, remove the chicken stroganoff from the heat.
- Serve the chicken stroganoff with rice.
- Wash the basmati rice and sauté it in a little butter, then cover the rice with water, add salt to taste and stir.
- When the water boils, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let the rice simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
