Chicken in Tomato Sauce — easy and delicious
Ingredients
- 3 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 large onion
- 1 large tomato
- 5 garlic cloves
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper
- Ground hot pepper (optional, to taste)
- Chicken seasoning
- Paprika or sweet red pepper powder
- Vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste or tomato sauce
- 2 cups hot water
Method
- Cut the washed and well-drained chicken breasts into medium or large cubes.
- Cut the onion and tomatoes into medium cubes, finely chop the garlic, and leave them aside.
- Place the chicken with a little oil in a nonstick frying pan over the heat, stir until it takes color, then add the onion and garlic and sauté.
- When the onion wilts, add the tomatoes and cook them over the heat for 5 minutes, stirring, until the tomatoes soften.Timers: 5 min
- Add tomato paste or tomato sauce, salt, spices, oregano, and hot pepper, plus water, and stir.
- Bring to a strong boil over high heat, then reduce the heat and cook until done.
- Serve the chicken in tomato sauce with rice; it can also be eaten with Arabic bread.
