Recipe story

Caramel popcorn — how about bringing the cinema atmosphere home?! Making popcorn is one of the ways :)

Ingredients

  • Popcorn kernels
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Caramel:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Small piece of butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Caramel popcorn recipe provided by a friend and cook on Shoutabkhin Today:

Method

  1. Put the sugar in a pan over the heat and stir until it takes on a light brown color.
  2. Add 1/4 cup water and the small piece of butter and stir quickly for 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  3. Turn off the heat, then add the baking powder.
  4. Note: If the sugar hasn’t fully dissolved, you can strain the caramel.
  5. In a pot, add oil, popcorn kernels and a pinch of salt.
  6. Reduce the heat so the kernels pop gently. Shake the pot occasionally so they don’t burn.
  7. Place the popped corn in a bowl and drizzle the cooled caramel over it.
  8. Toss so the popcorn absorbs the caramel evenly.
  9. Spread the caramel popcorn on a tray and let it cool.
  10. Separate the clusters once cool — they will stick together because of the caramel — then serve. Caramel popcorn
