Churros dough — sweet, delicious and easy. Traditionally fried as fingers and coated with cinnamon-sugar, but this version bakes in the oven for a lighter result.

Churros dough — sweet, tasty and easy. Traditionally fried into fingers, but this lighter version is baked in the oven. Here is how.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons brown or white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs
- liquid chocolate* for serving
- For coating:
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method
- Put the water, butter, and sugar in a saucepan over the heat and stir
- When it boils, add the flour gradually and cook over low heat while stirring
- When the mixture dries out, turn off the heat and let it cool, then add the eggs one at a time with the vanilla and stir with a wooden spoon until the mixture is somewhat soft
- Put the dough into a piping bag and shape them as desired or using a churros nozzle. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Put them into a preheated oven at 200°C for about a quarter of an hour... then turn off the oven
- Leave them in the oven for about another quarter of an hour until the churros dough cools inside the oven
- Decorate the churros dough with sugar mixed with cinnamon and a pinch of salt, and dip it in chocolate when serving
- Serve the churros dough while hot
