Beef Stroganoff — a classic Russian dish made here with an easy, tested method your whole family will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram beef, cut into strips
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 can or 500 milliliters heavy cream (cooking cream)
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Start by frying the onions and crushed garlic in the pot with the oil.
  2. When the onions and garlic soften, add the beef strips and fry until the meat is cooked.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and stir with the meat, onions and garlic, then season with salt, black pepper and cinnamon.
  4. Add the flour and stir it in until it coats the ingredients.
  5. At this stage add the fresh cooking cream and mix into the ingredients.
  6. Leave the mixture to simmer on low heat for 20 minutes to ensure the beef is tender, then finally add the lemon juice to cut the cream's richness.

  7. Serve the beef stroganoff with white rice or pasta according to your preference.
