Beef Stroganoff — a classic Russian dish made here with an easy, tested method your whole family will love!
Ingredients
- 1 kilogram beef, cut into strips
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 can or 500 milliliters heavy cream (cooking cream)
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of black pepper
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
Method
- Start by frying the onions and crushed garlic in the pot with the oil.
- When the onions and garlic soften, add the beef strips and fry until the meat is cooked.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and stir with the meat, onions and garlic, then season with salt, black pepper and cinnamon.
- Add the flour and stir it in until it coats the ingredients.
- At this stage add the fresh cooking cream and mix into the ingredients.
- Leave the mixture to simmer on low heat for 20 minutes to ensure the beef is tender, then finally add the lemon juice to cut the cream's richness.Timers: 20 min
- Serve the beef stroganoff with white rice or pasta according to your preference.
