Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg fine minced meat
  • Meat seasoning
  • Mixed spices
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Black pepper
  • Salt
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cut into medium cubes
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Tomato paste
  • Sweet red pepper powder or paprika
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Cardamom pods

Method

  1. Mix the ground meat thoroughly with the spices
  2. Shape the meat into small meatballs
  3. Fry them in a little corn oil in a skillet over medium heat until browned on all sides, then set aside
  4. Fry the onion in a little corn oil; when it softens, add the cubed potatoes and sauté until they color
  5. Add the meatballs we set aside, tomato paste, paprika, cinnamon sticks and cardamom, and stir briefly
  6. Cover them with water and simmer over low heat for about one hour until they are cooked and the sauce thickens
  7. Serve Dawood Basha alongside rice cooked with vermicelli or plain white rice as desired
