Namoura (Basbousa) Recipe
A very tasty Namoura recipe made the authentic way and easy to follow. You can control the amount of syrup to achieve the sweetness you want.
Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups coarse semolina
- 1 cup sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 2 cups yogurt
- 2 tablespoons rose water and orange blossom water
- a pinch of baking soda
- peeled almonds for garnish
- syrup (qatr or shira)
- Grease a baking pan with a little tahini and pour in the namoura batter. Spread the batter and smooth its surface in the pan.
- Decorate the namoura with peeled almonds and put the pan in the oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the namoura from the oven and pour the syrup (qatr or shira) over it while it is hot, and serve after cutting as desired.
Method

- Start by mixing the semolina with the salt, baking soda, and sugar. Add rose water and orange blossom water to the dry mixture and stir with a wooden spoon.
- Add the yogurt and mix well until you obtain a batter; cover it and leave it aside for about half an hour to rest.
- Grease a baking pan with a little tahini and pour in the namoura batter. Spread the batter and smooth its surface in the pan.
