How to Make Marble Cake

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 6 eggs, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- zest of 1 lemon
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Beat the butter with the sugar and vanilla until the mixture turns white.
- Add the eggs one at a time.
- Add the milk with lemon zest, then using a spoon add the flour gradually and mix with a spatula.
- Divide the batter into two portions — they don't have to be equal.
- Mix a small portion with cocoa and leave the other without cocoa.
- In the cake pan spread the white batter, add the cocoa mixture on one half, then use a fork to swirl the mixtures from bottom to top in the center of the pan.
- Bake the marble cake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes or until it is cooked and risen, depending on your oven's strength.Timers: 30 min
- It is best not to open the oven at all while the cake is baking.
