Chinese-Style Chicken with Vegetables

Chicken, with noodles or white rice, is one of the most popular Chinese dishes in the Arab world. You can add a little pistachio or cashews to this dish for an extra tasty, distinctly Chinese flavor.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 kg chicken breast, sliced into thin strips lengthwise
  • 5 carrots, thinly sliced
  • Colorful bell peppers, thinly sliced lengthwise
  • Grated ginger
  • Minced garlic
  • Onion, thinly sliced
  • A large ear of corn
  • Mushrooms, whole
  • Soy sauce
  • Assorted spices

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Stir-fry the chicken over high heat; when it starts to turn white, add the onion, garlic, and ginger, then sauté for a few minutes before adding the carrots and peppers and continuing to stir-fry.
  2. Add the mushrooms and corn with the spices and soy sauce. Note that soy sauce is salty, so adjust the salt if desired to avoid making the dish too salty.
  3. Toss all the ingredients over high heat for about 5 more minutes without letting the vegetables wilt.
  4. Serve the Chinese chicken and vegetables with white rice or noodles, as you prefer.
