Chinese-Style Chicken with Vegetables
Chicken, with noodles or white rice, is one of the most popular Chinese dishes in the Arab world. You can add a little pistachio or cashews to this dish for an extra tasty, distinctly Chinese flavor.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 kg chicken breast, sliced into thin strips lengthwise
- 5 carrots, thinly sliced
- Colorful bell peppers, thinly sliced lengthwise
- Grated ginger
- Minced garlic
- Onion, thinly sliced
- A large ear of corn
- Mushrooms, whole
- Soy sauce
- Assorted spices
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Stir-fry the chicken over high heat; when it starts to turn white, add the onion, garlic, and ginger, then sauté for a few minutes before adding the carrots and peppers and continuing to stir-fry.
- Add the mushrooms and corn with the spices and soy sauce. Note that soy sauce is salty, so adjust the salt if desired to avoid making the dish too salty.
- Toss all the ingredients over high heat for about 5 more minutes without letting the vegetables wilt.
- Serve the Chinese chicken and vegetables with white rice or noodles, as you prefer.
