Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups brown lentils
- 2 large taro roots
- 1 onion
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- A small pinch ground cinnamon
- A small pinch seven-spice (baharat) blend
- Water
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Peel the taro, cut into small pieces, and rinse them under cold water.
- Rinse the lentils and place them in a pressure cooker with the rinsed taro. Add enough water to cook the lentils and taro, season with salt and spices, close the cooker and cook for about 20 minutes. If using a regular pot, simmer for about 45 minutes.Timers: 20 min, 45 min
- Finely chop the onion and sauté it in the olive oil until golden.
- Add the sautéed onion to the pot with the lentils and taro and let them simmer a few minutes, then turn off the heat.
- Serve the lentil and taro soup immediately.
