Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Peel and wash the potatoes, then place them in a pot with water and a pinch of salt and boil them.
  2. Once the potatoes are well cooked, drain them.
  3. Add a dash of corn oil, a little crushed biscuits (or breadcrumbs), and a pinch of salt over the potatoes, then mash them until smooth and set aside.
  4. Sauté the finely chopped onion in a little corn oil in a pan until softened.
  5. When the onion softens, add the minced meat, spices, and salt, stirring until the meat is well cooked.
  6. Grease a Pyrex dish or oven-safe glass tray with a little oil. Then, spread half of the potato mixture and press it down with the palm of your hand to arrange it evenly.
  7. Next, spread all of the meat filling evenly over the potato layer.
  8. Arrange the second half of the potato mixture over the filling. You can dip your hand in a small bowl of water from time to time to prevent the potato from sticking to your hand and to make it easier to spread.
  9. Sprinkle a thick layer of breadcrumbs or crushed biscuits on top.
  10. Finally, distribute thin slices of butter over the entire surface.
  11. Place the Pyrex dish in the oven until the bottom of the potatoes is browned, then brown the top.
  12. Serve potato puree soufflé with baked meat with a mixed green salad or as desired.
