Swiss Roll (Roll Cake)
There are many Swiss roll recipes, but this one is tested, easy, and we recommend making it yourself. It's important not to leave the Swiss roll in the oven for too long so you can fill and roll it easily later.

- 4 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Method
- Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla for about 8 minutes until the mixture is pale and thick.Timers: 8 min
- Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and cocoa, continuing to mix with a wooden spoon. A mixer is not needed at this stage.
- Pour the batter into a thin baking tray lined with parchment paper... also grease it lightly with a little butter and spread the batter evenly across the tray.
- Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180°C.
- The Swiss roll cake should bake for about 10 minutes maximum to prevent it from becoming hard and difficult to roll later.Timers: 10 min
- When removing the cake from the oven, cover it to prevent it from drying out and let it cool completely before filling as desired and rolling and decorating for the occasion.
