Ingredients

  • 1 box spinach lasagna sheets
  • Ground meat
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • A pinch of rosemary, a pinch of oregano (wild thyme)
  • A pinch of dried mint
  • Salt
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Béchamel sauce
  • Also prepare the white sauce:
  • 3 cups liquid milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • A pinch of white pepper

Method

  1. Start by preparing the red sauce made with meat and vegetables. Sauté the onion and garlic in a little vegetable oil, then add the green pepper.
  2. After a few minutes, add the ground meat, then salt and spices, along with the wild thyme, dried mint, and rosemary. Wait a few minutes until the meat is cooked, then add the tomato juice.
  3. Mix these ingredients well, making sure they do not form lumps, and stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly. Set aside.
  4. Boil the lasagna sheets after adding a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil to the boiling water.
  5. Be careful not to let the lasagna sheets dry out, or it will be difficult to prepare this recipe. You can cover the boiled sheets with a damp cloth while trying to assemble the dish quickly at this stage, so it is best to prepare the red and white sauces before boiling the lasagna.
  6. In a cake pan, add a little vegetable oil. Arrange the first layer of lasagna sheets, leaving some edges hanging outside the cake pan. Add a layer of red meat sauce. Cover with a second layer of lasagna, then add a layer of white sauce with a little mozzarella cheese, followed by a new layer of lasagna cut into smaller strips and another layer of meat. Finally, close the lasagna with a last layer of lasagna sheets.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top of the lasagna mold and bake in a preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
    Timers: 40 min
  8. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before attempting to invert it onto a serving plate.
    Timers: 10 min
  9. Once the lasagna cake pan has cooled slightly, turn it out onto a serving plate. It can be garnished as desired with mozzarella cheese and freshly chopped green parsley.
