- 8 slices of white toast bread
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
- Ready-made qishta (clotted cream) or homemade
- Sugar syrup (shira)
- Ground pistachios for garnish
Method
- Process the white toast bread in a food processor after removing the hard crusts until you obtain fine bread crumbs
- Add three to four tablespoons of butter and the shredded coconut
- Line a muffin tin with paper cups or silicone molds (as available), add a portion of the toast mixture, place qishta on top, then add another layer of toast mixture over the qishta
- Bake them in a preheated oven for about 25 minutes at 350°F
- After baking, pour cold syrup over them and turn them out onto a serving plate; you can garnish with ground pistachios
