Lettuce and Heart-of-Palm (Palmito) Salad

A light, fresh lettuce and heart-of-palm salad — very tasty with steak and with many rice dishes, especially shrimp rice.

Ingredients

  • 10 lettuce leaves
  • 1 can heart-of-palm (palmito)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Dressing
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt, to taste

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Wash the vegetables, drain them, and roughly chop them
  2. Prepare the dressing: whisk the mustard with the salt and vinegar, then add the oil gradually while whisking until you obtain a light, smooth emulsion
  3. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss
