Ingredients

  • 6 cups skim milk
  • Or you can replace the liquid milk with:
  • 6 cups water + 16 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 1/3 cup washed Egyptian rice
  • 1 cup heavy cream, or you can replace it with a ready-made container of clotted cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 1/2 tablespoon rose water

Method

  1. Put the milk and cream over medium heat until the mixture boils
  2. Add the rice and stir, then add the sugar and reduce the heat until the rice is cooked
  3. Stir the rice pudding mixture from time to time until the rice grain is fully cooked and the mixture thickens; this will take about two hours
  4. Turn off the heat, then add orange blossom water and rose water, stir the mixture and pour the rice pudding into serving cups and garnish it as desired or as shown in the accompanying photo
