Savory petit fours ... a super delicious recipe! You won’t believe it until you try it

Ingredients

  • 600 g white flour, equivalent to 5 cups minus 2 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons milk powder or 40 g
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 350 g cold butter from the fridge, firm and cut into small cubes
  • For the topping:
  • 1 beaten egg
  • Sesame seeds
  • Nigella seeds

Method

  1. Mix the dry ingredients, then add the butter and rub it well until the mixture becomes like sand.
  2. Then add the water, oil and egg and bring the dough together without kneading—never knead petit four dough of any kind.
  3. When the dough is ready, refrigerate it until the next day.
  4. On the following day, cut the dough and shape it as desired.
  5. Brush the pieces with egg and sprinkle nigella seeds or sesame on top.
  6. Bake the savory petit fours at 170°C for 12 minutes.
  7. Serve the savory petit fours cold.
