How to Make Donuts

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 egg
- A dash of vanilla
- 100 grams butter
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- About 1½ cups milk (or adjust to flour type)

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix 1 1/2 cups warm milk with 1 1/2 cups flour with the sugar and yeast and let them rise for about a quarter of an hour
- Add the egg, vanilla, and butter and mix well, then begin adding flour in batches and knead to obtain a cohesive dough
- Roll it out but keep it thick and shape it into donuts — see the picture
- Place the pieces on a tray lined with baking paper to rise
- When they have risen, fry the donuts in plenty of oil over medium heat
- Let them cool before decorating them with melted chocolate or other toppings as desired
