Ingredients:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n8 cups all-purpose flour\r\n\r\n2 cups powdered milk 1/2\r\n\r\n1/2 cup Mazola oil\r\n\r\n1 cup butter\r\n\r\n2 teaspoons yeast\r\n\r\n1 tablespoon salt\r\n\r\n1 tablespoon sugar\r\n\r\n1 cup natural orange juice\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe filling:\r\n\r\nHalloumi cheese cut into sticks\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPreparation:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMix the ingredients well until a homogeneous dough forms. Roll or stretch the dough and cut it with a knife along several lines lengthwise.\r\n\r\nPrepare the cheese filling, cut lengthwise as well. Place in each line of dough a cheese stick, roll it up, and seal the dough from both ends.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nArrange the cheese fingers on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese fingers brown and the dough is cooked.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRecipe and method from a friend and chef on Shou Tabkhin Today:\r\n

  • 8 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup Mazola oil
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Filling:
  • Halloumi cheese, cut into finger-sized sticks

Method

  1. Mix the ingredients well until you have a uniform dough. Roll or stretch the dough and cut it with a knife into several lengthwise strips.
  2. Prepare the cheese filling separately, cutting it into lengthwise sticks as well. Place a cheese stick on each dough strip, roll the dough around it, and seal the dough at both ends.
  3. Arrange the cheese fingers on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes or until the cheese fingers are golden and the dough is cooked.
