  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • shawarma spice mix
  • dried coriander
  • turmeric or saffron substitute
  • hot pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon mastic
  • 1 teaspoon mahleb
  • Tartar or tahini sauce to accompany the shawarma
  • 1 cup tahini
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • a pinch of parsley
  • Shawarma salad
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • white onion
  • sumac
  • olive oil

Method

  1. Mix the spices with the tahini and oil and marinate the beef in this mixture. Leave the beef in the marinade overnight or for 24 hours.
