Ingredients
- 500 g cleaned shrimp (prawns)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups crushed cornflakes or finely crushed cake crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp red chili powder (optional)

Method
- Sprinkle the spices over the shrimp, then coat them with flour on all sides.
- Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt in a bowl, then dip the shrimp one by one into the egg.
- Cover each shrimp with cornflakes or breadcrumbs by dipping them one at a time, taking care not to press them.
- Fry the shrimp in plenty of hot oil until they turn golden.
- Serve the fried shrimp with a variety of sauces such as sweet-chili sauce or ketchup and mayonnaise.
- How to make the sweet-chili sauce:
- Mix two tablespoons of ketchup with one tablespoon of honey, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of dried ground red chili pepper.
- Mix two tablespoons of ketchup with two tablespoons of mayonnaise, a squeeze of lemon, and one tablespoon of mustard.
