Ingredients
- Medium-sized fresh white mushrooms
- 1 dry onion
- 2 cups ground meat, or amount as desired
- 1 green pepper
- 4 tomatoes
- A pinch of nutmeg
- A pinch of ground cinnamon
- A pinch of seven-spice blend
- Salt
- Paprika (ground red pepper)
- Spicy red pepper or chili to taste
- Peel the tomatoes and finely chop them, then add them over the mushroom and meat mixture.
Method
- Peel the fresh mushrooms, wash them, drain them in a colander, and cut them into medium-sized pieces or to your liking.
- Dice the onion into small cubes, put it in a pan over the heat and fry it in vegetable oil until softened.
- Add the finely ground meat and sauté it with the onion until it browns slightly.
- Add the chopped green pepper and sauté it with the meat and onion for several minutes. Add the chopped mushrooms, cover the pot, and let the ingredients cook gently for a few minutes. At this stage add all the spices to taste. A pinch of nutmeg will give the fresh mushroom stew a very distinctive flavor.
- Peel the tomatoes and finely chop them, then add them over the mushroom and meat mixture.
- Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat until the ingredients are cooked. You can add a little water if desired or rely on the liquid released by the tomatoes and mushrooms.Timers: 10 min
- Serve the fresh mushroom stew alongside cooked rice.
