Ingredients:

Fresh white button mushrooms, medium size

\r\n

1 onion

\r\n

2 cups ground meat, or as desired

\r\n

1 green bell pepper

\r\n

4 tomatoes

\r\n

A pinch of nutmeg

\r\n

A pinch of ground cinnamon

\r\n

A pinch of seven-spice

\r\n

Salt

\r\n

Red pepper or paprika, to taste

\r\n

Method:

\r\n

Peel and rinse the fresh mushrooms, then cut into medium pieces as desired.

\r\n

Chop the onion into small dice, place in a skillet with vegetable oil and sauté until translucent.

\r\n

Add the ground meat and cook with the onion until lightly browned.

\r\n

Add the green pepper and stir for a few minutes. Add the mushrooms. Cover the pot and let the ingredients simmer gently for several minutes. At this stage add all the spices as you like. A dash of nutmeg will give the fresh mushroom stew a distinctive aroma.

\r\n

Peel the tomatoes and blend them finely, then add to the mushroom-meat mixture.

\r\n

Let the mixture boil for about 10 minutes on low heat until the flavors meld. You may add a little water if needed, or use the liquid released by the tomatoes and mushrooms.

\r\n

Serve the Fresh Mushroom Stew with cooked rice.
