  • Eggplant, sliced into thin slices
  • Tomato (optional)
  • Tomato juice
  • Filling:
  • Ground beef
  • Chopped onion
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Cinnamon
  • Seven-spice mix (baharat)
  • Pine nuts

Method

  1. Fry or roast the eggplant according to your preference
  2. Prepare the filling: sauté the meat until it dries, then add oil, onion, salt, spices, and pine nuts
  3. Stir and let it simmer on low heat until cooked
  4. Place a little filling inside each eggplant slice and roll it like a roll; hollow out the tomatoes and stuff them as well
  5. Arrange the stuffed vegetables in the baking dish and pour a quantity of tomato juice and salt over the eggplant rolls
  6. Put the dish into the oven until the tomato broth boils and thickens slightly
  7. Serve with rice
