Chicken pie .. a very easy and delicious recipe, and a nice change from serving chicken in the usual ways.. don't repeat yourselves; this is a lovely idea and well worth trying

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Pizza sauce
  • Chopped olives
  • Mushrooms
  • Sesame seeds
  • Nescafe mixed with liquid milk - a small amount for brushing the dough
  • Dough:
  • Half a cup warm liquid milk
  • 1 and 1/4 tablespoons instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 500 grams flour, or as needed depending on the type of flour
  • Dough method :

  • Half a kilo boneless chicken breast, cut lengthwise into strips
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Spices (black pepper - chicken seasoning - curry - fine cinnamon - paprika - mixed spice - salt), a pinch of each

Method

  1. Mix the milk, yeast, and sugar together and leave them for ten minutes until the yeast activates.
  2. Add the oil, water, salt, and egg white to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Then gradually add the flour, kneading continuously.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for one hour, or until it rises and doubles in size
  5. Sauté the chopped onion in a little vegetable oil until softened, then add the garlic and stir together.
  6. Add the chicken after increasing the heat under the pan, and keep stirring over high heat while adding the spices and salt until the chicken is cooked.
  7. Once the filling has cooled, roll out the dough into a circle, fill the edges with cheese, and twist them into a braid or shape as desired.
  8. In the center, spread the pizza sauce and top it with mozzarella cheese, then add the chicken filling, mushrooms, and olives.
  9. Brush the edges of the pie with the Nescafe and milk mixture, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  10. Place the chicken pie in a preheated 180 C oven until cooked through and golden.
  11. Finally, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and brown the chicken pie from above.
