Dawood Basha and rice.. one of the tastiest practical recipes that pleases the whole family. Don’t worry about what to make for the kids — just make this :)

Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste or tomato sauce
  • 3 potatoes
  • Salt
  • Baharat (seven-spice mix)

Method

  1. Add salt and baharat to the minced meat and mix well.
  2. Form the meat into small meatballs.
  3. Set the meatballs aside. Peel and wash the potatoes, then cut them into medium-sized cubes.
  4. In a pot, add 2 tablespoons of oil, finely chop the onion and sauté until softened.
  5. Add the meatballs and gently stir over medium heat.
  6. When the meat changes color and the pink/red is gone, add the chopped potatoes, the tomato paste/sauce, and enough water to cook the potatoes.
  7. Let the Dawood Basha simmer on low to medium heat until the potatoes are cooked through.
  8. Serve with white rice.
