Ingredients

  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 tbsp yeast
  • Filling:
  • cinnamon
  • cardamom
  • butter
  • For the topping:
  • milk
  • instant coffee (Nescafé)

Method

  1. Combine the butter, sugar, yeast, milk, and cardamom and stir until blended.
  2. Gradually add the flour and mix and knead.
  3. You will get a soft, slightly sticky dough.
  4. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
    Timers: 30 min
  5. Divide the cinnamon and cardamom roll dough into 3 balls.
  6. Roll each into a flat sheet about 2 cm thick.
  7. Spread a little butter with a sprinkle of sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon on the surface, then roll the dough into a sandwich-like log and cut into cylindrical rounds, thickness as desired.
  8. Brush the tops with a milk and Nescafé mixture and let the dough rest for 10 minutes on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
    Timers: 10 min
  9. Bake the cinnamon and cardamom rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C until done.
