Ingredients

  • 1 tub cream cheese
  • 1 tub spreadable cheese
  • a pinch white pepper
  • a sprinkle of cheddar cheese
  • 1 finely chopped pepper
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup finely crushed crackers
  • Lay out plastic wrap, sprinkle a little orange cheddar on it, then pour the cheese mixture and sprinkle the remaining cheddar over it
  • Wrap the plastic tightly and compress the cheese, then wrap plastic layers in opposite directions around the cheese disk
  • Tie it tightly with a thin string and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  • When the cheese firms up, carefully and slowly remove the plastic wrap.
  • Garnish with a strip of red pepper and serve with salted biscuits or crackers

Method

  1. Remove the pith and seeds from the red pepper, then wrap it carefully in paper towels and plastic wrap and set aside.
  2. Blend the different cheeses in the electric mixer until smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Add the red pepper, green onions, cornstarch, and crushed crackers to the cheese mixture and mix all ingredients well with a little cheddar cheese.
  4. Lay out plastic wrap, sprinkle a little orange cheddar on it, then pour the cheese mixture and sprinkle the remaining cheddar over it.
  5. Wrap the plastic tightly and compress the cheese, then wrap plastic layers in opposite directions around the cheese disk.
  6. Tie it tightly with a thin string and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  7. When the cheese firms up, remove the plastic wrap carefully and slowly.
  8. Garnish with a strip of red pepper and serve with salted biscuits or crackers.
