Bulgur with tomato and beef — a traditional, flavorful dish. Some prefer it meatless, but this version includes beef. Try it!
Ingredients
- 4 dry onions (or 4 onions)
- 1 hot green pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil mixed with vegetable oil
- Salt
- A pinch of seven-spice mix
- 2 tomatoes
- 3 cups coarse bulgur
- 6 cups water
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 kg beef, cut into small pieces

Method
- Finely chop the onion and sauté it in oil with a pinch of salt and seasoning until it softens.
- When it softens, add the bell pepper cut into small cubes and stir briefly.
- Add the beef and stir.
- When the meat is cooked, add the tomato paste and finely chopped tomatoes with a pinch of salt.
- After a few minutes of stirring, add water and let them simmer for half an hour over low heat.
- After half an hour, add the coarse bulgur, stir, cover the pot, and leave it on low heat until the bulgur with tomato and beef is cooked.
- Serve the bulgur with tomato and beef with yogurt, salad, pickles and vegetables as desired.
