  • In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the butter well until combined, then spread part of the mixture in the bottom of a rectangular ovenproof glass baking dish...

Method

  1. Put the milk with the fine rice and sugar in a small pot over low heat; stir until the ingredients are well combined, then add orange blossom water and mastic and continue stirring.
  2. Pour the mixture into the pan over the biscuit layer... then crumble the remaining biscuits over the pan and sprinkle walnuts, almonds and pistachios on top.
  3. Place slices of butter on top of the Arabic dessert and put the pan in the oven for 10 minutes until the butter melts and the surface turns golden.
  4. Remove the pan from the oven, pour syrup (sugar syrup) over it and serve it hot.
