French brioche bread — an excellent homemade recipe: easy and well tested.

Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 50 g butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar

Method

  1. Combine the dry ingredients together.
  2. Whisk the liquid milk with the eggs well using a fork until the eggs dissolve.
  3. Begin adding the eggs and milk to the dry ingredients and knead, then add the butter and knead for five minutes.
  4. Let the dough rest to rise properly.
  5. Roll out the dough with a light dusting of flour, divide it into four portions, make a long rope from each portion, then braid them together.
  6. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan with a dusting of flour, then let it puff up.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) and bake for 40 minutes or according to your oven.
