Coconut Basbousa
An easy and very delicious coconut basbousa recipe. This sweet basbousa can be prepared for guests and served elegantly at special occasions, or made to please everyone in the family.
Ingredients

- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- zest of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- sugar syrup (shīra)
- Remove the basbousa from the oven, cut as desired and pour the syrup over it
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- First, mix the dry ingredients well, then add the yogurt, eggs, and the remaining ingredients except for the syrup.
- Mix well, then pour the batter into an oven-safe baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.Timers: 25 min
- Remove the basbousa from the oven, cut it as desired, and pour the syrup over it.
