Chocolate Cake with Ganache
A rich, complete chocolate cake with a luscious ganache. Try this cake and it’s sure to satisfy guests and family alike.
Ingredients

- 5 eggs at room temperature
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 and a half tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- A dash of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup milk
- Method for preparing the ganache or chocolate sauce
Method

- First beat the eggs on high speed in an electric mixer with the vanilla, white vinegar, and lemon zest. Continue beating these ingredients for 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Add the sugar while continuing to beat, then add the oil and continue beating.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa. Gradually add these sifted dry ingredients over the egg mixture.
- Beat all the ingredients together for several minutes until you have a smooth, homogeneous batter.
- Grease the cake pan with a little butter and place the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C.
- Place the cake pan on the middle rack of the oven for about 45 minutes, but every oven varies so monitor the cake's baking and rising; avoid opening the oven door during the first 30 minutes of baking.Timers: 45 min, 30 min
- Remove the cake from the oven when baked and set aside to cool completely.
- Decorate the cake with chocolate ganache or as desired.
- Mix 250 grams of chocolate with a small 250 ml can of hot fresh cream.
