Shrimp Curry

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 can liquid coconut cream
  • 1/2 kg cleaned shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 2 tablespoons yellow curry paste
  • Salt
  • Frozen mixed vegetables such as peas, carrots, and corn
  • 1 medium potato

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Sauté or fry the finely chopped onion in oil until it softens, then add the crushed garlic and stir.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring, until they turn red.
  3. Add the mixed vegetables and stir.
  4. Add the potatoes cut into small pieces and stir, then add the curry powder and curry paste and stir briefly until the vegetables begin to wilt.
  5. Add the coconut milk or cream and let it boil for about a quarter of an hour (about 15 minutes) or until the vegetables are cooked. If the mixture is still too thin, add a little flour dissolved in a little water and stir until it thickens.

  6. Serve Shrimp Curry alongside white rice.
