Sausage and Mozzarella Pastries

Sausage pastries with gooey, quick-melting mozzarella. A tasty homemade recipe — includes a versatile dough recipe suitable for all pastries.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Prepared pastry dough — see Terez's recipe
  • Dough for all pastries
  • 500 g sausage
  • 500 g grated mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced into rounds

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Cut the sausage into small rounds and cook over medium heat until done.
  2. Roll the dough into a long shape and sprinkle with grated mozzarella, then add some pieces of sausage and two or three pitted olive slices. Fold the edges to form a boat shape or any shape you prefer.
  3. Lightly grease a baking tray with oil, place the pastries on it, then brush the tops with vegetable oil.
  4. Sprinkle sesame seeds and nigella (black cumin) seeds on top.
  5. Bake the sausage and mozzarella pastries at high temperature for about 10 minutes, or adjust according to your oven.
