Foul (Fava Beans) with Tahini
A quick, standard recipe for foul with tahini using canned fava beans. You can make the same dish using soaked and boiled beans, but this version uses the convenient, time-saving shortcut.

Ingredients

- 1 can cooked fava beans (foul mudammas)
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 lemons (for juicing)
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Water, as needed
- Chopped parsley for garnish

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Open the can of fava beans, rinse well, and place the beans in a pot with fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Drain the beans, transfer to a bowl, and mash them slightly.
- Add the crushed garlic, ground cumin, and tahini; stir until combined.
- Add the lemon juice and salt, and mix again.
- Slowly add water in a thin stream while stirring until the mixture reaches a slightly thick but spreadable consistency. Garnish with chopped parsley.
- Note: You can prepare this recipe using pre-soaked and boiled fava beans the same way, but we used canned beans here for a quick, time-saving version.
