Chicken Tacos and Burritos

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Store-bought tortilla wraps
  • Ready-made taco seasoning packet
  • Diced tomato
  • Finely chopped lettuce
  • Mixed cheese: mozzarella + cheddar
  • Chicken breasts, diced or sliced
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • A pinch of pepper
  • Sour cream — optional
  • Prepared taco sauce
  • or
  • Taco sauce
  • Onion
  • +
  • Tomato
  • Hot chili pepper
  • Bell pepper
  • Salt
  • To make the taco sauce
  • Chop the vegetables and sauté them over the heat until softened.
  • Note
  • You can substitute chicken with ground or shredded meat.

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Heat a little oil in a large skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté briefly.
  2. Add the chicken, salt, a pinch of pepper, a pinch of turmeric and the rest of the spices. You can add any seasoning you like for color and flavor. Cook the chicken until done.
  3. Heat the taco shells in the oven for 5 minutes and warm the tortillas over the gas flame.
    Timers: 5 min
  4. Fill the tacos with a little of the chicken mixture and top with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sauce. Finish with a dollop or sprinkle of sour cream.
  5. Prepare the tortillas the same way and roll them up like a sandwich — that’s a burrito.
  6. Add salt and spices and stir.
  7. Blend until you get a smooth-textured taco sauce.
