Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Peel the potatoes and wash them.
- Begin by slicing the potatoes thinly in circular slices, taking care not to cut all the way through so the rings stay connected and the potato remains intact at the bottom; this makes arranging the slices neatly in the baking dish easier.
- Place the sliced potatoes in a wide ovenproof dish... continue the same process until the dish is full...
- Sprinkle a little salt and white pepper on the potatoes and spread the crushed garlic over the top...
- Pour heavy cream over the potatoes.
- Bake in a moderate oven at about 180°C with heat from the bottom for 30 to 40 minutes depending on the oven's strength.Timers: 40 min
- After half an hour, insert the tip of a knife into the potatoes to check they are cooked.
- Add grated mozzarella on top and brown the dish slightly from above...
- Serve it hot alongside steak, for example, or on its own as desired.
