How to Make Kofta with Tahini
Kofta with tahini is a different take from the classic baked kofta tray with tomato sauce. Anyone who loves tahini will love this kofta and tahini recipe and will want to make it again and again.
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 5 potatoes
- 1 kilo ready-made kofta or ground meat
- 6 tomatoes
- 4 cloves garlic
- A pinch of black pepper
- Salt
- 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 cup tahini
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Peel the potatoes, cut them into rounds, and fry them in plenty of hot oil. When the potatoes are cooked, remove them from the oil, place them on paper towels to absorb the oil, and set aside.
- Prepare the kofta. If using pre-made kofta mixture, shape it into rounds. If using finely ground meat, add parsley, onion, salt, and pepper, mix well, then shape into rounds.
- In a baking tray, put a little vegetable oil and arrange a few slices of tomato, sprinkle a little salt and black pepper over them, then add a few slices of fried potatoes and then a few rounds of kofta.
- Make two layers in this order — tomato, then potatoes, then kofta — until all the mixture is used.
- In a separate bowl grate two tomatoes and mix them with crushed garlic, salt, spices, vinegar, and tahini. Whisk the mixture well — it is important that the mixture is not thick because the tahini will set during cooking. Pour the tahini mixture over the meat and potatoes and put the tray in the oven.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes or until cooked through and nicely browned.Timers: 30 min
