Turkish Muhallebi Recipe

Ingredients

- 4 cups liquid milk
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- a small piece of softened butter
- 2 tablespoons powdered dessert cream
- Decoration as desired
- Remove the pot of Turkish muhallebi from the heat and add a sachet or the two tablespoons of powdered dessert cream and whisk well until the mixture thickens

Method

- Pour the milk into a deep bowl.
- Add the sugar and whisk while cold until the sugar dissolves, then add the flour and cornstarch, mixing constantly until the ingredients dissolve.
- Transfer the muhallebi mixture to a pot over the heat, add the butter, and stir the mixture over low heat.
- Add the vanilla and keep stirring so the muhallebi does not stick, until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the Turkish muhallebi pot from the heat and add one packet or the 2 tablespoons of dessert cream powder, then whisk well until the mixture thickens.
