  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup fine cornstarch (starch)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Warm water as needed
  • Filling
  • Akkawi (sweet) cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Halloumi cheese
  • A little finely chopped parsley

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Mix the flour, cornstarch, sugar, and salt well.
  2. Melt the butter, add it to the dry ingredients, and rub together.
  3. Add the lukewarm water and knead.
  4. Let the dough rest for one hour.
  5. Prepare the filling: mix the cheeses (after washing, grating, and draining them) with the parsley.
  6. When the dough has rested, roll it out thinly and cut into medium-sized squares; fill each, seal with a little cornstarch dissolved in water, and fold into triangles.
  7. Fry the cheese sambousek in plenty of hot oil, drain and cool, then serve.
